Sworn Document Translation and Legalization

Different countries of the World have different legal systems and procedures of recognition of official documents, issued abroad.

Legalization means legal preparation of a document, issued by authorities of one country for use in another country.

There is a complete system of international conventions and bilateral agreements with regard to this issue.

One of the well-known conventions is The Hague Convention of October 5th 1961 about recognition of documents, certified with Apostille - an international certificate, issued by the country of origin of the document and certifying the authenticity of signature of the appropriate official and seal of the appropriate public authority. The translation of such official document should be made by a Sworn Translator, signed a special Affidavit of liability for incorrect translation and his/her signature should be certified by the appropriate authority (Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Notary Public, etc., depending on the country.
